Work Experience Works

By now you should be aware that at Jobfind we do all we can to make sure you’re ready to work in a job that’s right for you. We assist you in as many ways as we can and another one of those ways is through Work Experience. We’ll get you hands-on experience where you can put your skills to use and ready yourself for fulltime employment.

Why Should You Do Work Experience?

The simple answer is that experience breeds confidence and it’ll help you land that job you’re applying for.

Our Work Experience activities are available in 2 areas – skills training and genuine work-like experiences. And both of these will enhance your chances of getting a job.

All activity types offer you the opportunity to be part of a team and experience all the different facets of office life. This includes the chance to be mentored, have an understanding of workplace expectations, take direction from supervisors, work independently and develop workplace communication skills.

There is a wide variety of available Work Experience Activities and locations so that each placement can be individually tailored to your employment goals and career pathway.

Types of Work Experience

There are many different types of Work Experience activities available through Jobfind. These include:

• Accredited Study
• Participation in Government Programs and/or Services
• Voluntary work (e.g. at a community organisation or shop)
• Unpaid Work Experience (e.g. a short-term arrangement with a local employer)
• Work for the Dole (e.g. building, tourism, care or other activities which benefit the community)
• Green Corps (environmental activities for people aged 17-20)
