What do Jobfind's Indigenous Staff have to say?
Here are just a few quotes from some of Jobfind's Indigenous staff members:
“I believe I am making positive changes for the community of Hope Vale with the assistance of my team, participants and the community as a whole – as well as the support of the management team, who appreciate my opinions and respect the Cultural aspect of my being. I am an Aboriginal – South Sea Islander man, making a difference to help close the gap for Indigenous Australians. I am proud to say I am doing a good job.”
William, CDEP Manager
Hope Vale, QLD
“My name is Sharyn and I am a proud Aboriginal woman who has been working with Jobfind for 7 years. I still love my job and I’m still excited to come to work every day. I love the fact that every single day I get the chance to change the world one life at a time. I had one of our clients say to me the other day that I am her hero (she knew me back when I first moved to Darwin, long before my Jobfind days). She told me that I have inspired her whole family and, if I can do it, so can they. This really moved me – sometimes we forget the effect that we have on people. Jobfind has given me every opportunity to succeed in everything I do and I am so privileged to work for such a supportive and wonderful company. Jobfind has helped me to become the person that I am today and I have grown not only as an employee but as a person as well, thanks to Jobfind.”
Sharyn, Centre Manager
Palmerston, NT
“My name is Michael and my family originates from Erub (Darnley Island) in the beautiful Torres Strait Islands. Whilst being a great place to work, Jobfind has provided me with all the support I needed to make the transition from a trade background into Job Services and now IEP (Indigenous Employment Projects). There is a clear path for my career in front of me and the professional development opportunities to help make it all happen and I have Jobfind to thank for that. I would absolutely recommend to anyone, especially Indigenous Australians, to apply to work with Jobfind Centres Australia, they truly do have great people everywhere! Together with the support of Jobfind Centres Australia we can make a difference in our families and communities, but above all, it's just a deadly place to work!”
Michael, Indigenous Employment Projects (IEP) Officer
