Who is Jobfind? Established in 1998 as a member of the Australian Government’s Job Services Australia, Jobfind is a leading employment services and training provider operating in 130 metropolitan, regional and remote locations. Under Job Services Australia, Jobfind assists job seekers become work ready through a variety of vocational and non-vocational solutions, and markets them to prospective employers within a community. Jobfind is proud to be an industry leader in the use of technology. With our sister company, SumTotal Australia & New Zealand, Jobfind has developed LearnNow, our exclusive online learning platform, offering job seekers over 200 work related courses. In 2008 Jobfind designed, developed and launched Budda-Jitja, the first online pre-employment program developed specifically for Indigenous people. The ‘Work for Life’ program can be delivered via ‘classroom in a box’ – a laptop network requiring no internet connection – in regional and remote areas, again demonstrating Jobfind’s innovative approach to service delivery. In addition to Job Services Australia, Jobfind delivers the Australian Government’s Indigenous Employment Programs (IEP) and Community Development Employment Programs (CDEP). Jobfind has an enviable record of success in finding meaningful work for Indigenous people. Jobfind has initiated a number of innovative programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including the Tribal Warrior Project (participants spend 7 days at sea gaining qualifications for the maritime industry) and the Lockhart River Mobile Kitchen (a thriving CDEP business where Indigenous women are professionally trained to make up to 300 meals each day). Jobfind runs Indigenous training programs for a variety of industries including mining, hospitality, retail, construction, agriculture and administration. Company Growth Since its inception in 1998, Jobfind has grown significantly through strategic acquisitions and winning Australian Government tenders and Jobfind doubled in size in 2008 to become the largest private provider. Since 2006 Jobfind has acquired Skills Centred Queensland, Pegler Personnel, ADD Employment, Your Employment Solutions and WorkDirections Australia. These acquisitions have strengthened our industry presence and brought a wealth of new experience and knowledge to Jobfind. Over the past decade, Jobfind has experienced a high level of success in many Australian Government tenders including an exclusive pilot program in NT and most recently success in tenders for Job Services Australia and Indigenous Employment Programs. Professional Development Jobfind recognises the value of continuous training and professional development at all levels within the company. In addition to being fully trained in their role, staff are encouraged to undertake any education or training that would benefit them in their career. Jobfind’s support of continuing education may extend to allowance for time off, flexible working hours, financial assistance or salary sacrificing. Jobfind employees also have the opportunity to undertake any of the 200 training courses available through LearnNow. Courses include computer skills training, negotiating and time management.
