In a determined bid to reinvest in the community and deliver real outcomes for job seekers, Jobfind has provided assistance to Darwin businesses keen to employ local people through its Operation Jobfind employer subsidies. The scheme has provided a welcome incentive for local businesses to help improve job opportunities within their community. Employers receive up to $2000 for placing an eligible candidate into employment. The first payment, received after a successful 13 week placement, will be presented over the coming weeks, and the final installment at 26 weeks. Jobfind Centres initiated the campaign to encourage local businesses and job seekers to support each other and to increase awareness of our Centres resources, which are available at no cost to employers or job seekers, said Casuarina Jobfind Centre manager Ms Michelle Burgess. Jobfind Centres offer a strong support network which equips job seekers with the necessary skills for immediate employment by providing extensive assistance in job matching, job search techniques, and relevant skills training. And once a candidate is placed, our consultants monitor the progress of both the employer and job seeker, ensuring both parties are satisfied with the results and a win-win situation is achieved, said Ms Burgess. Operation Jobfind, which ran throughout April and May, helped to place 108 local Job Seekers from the Darwin area in just five weeks. Jobfind continues to provide employment support through local centres across Australia. Since its inception five years ago, Jobfind has successfully placed almost 40,000 participants into employment.
