Our Indigenous Commitment
At Jobfind we take great pride in servicing Indigenous communities around Australia including many remote regions in Cape York and in the Northern Territory. Around 20% of our clients are Indigenous and we are passionate about providing high-quality training and employment services to both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
As part of our commitment we run hundreds of programs to support Indigenous people in their local communities. Our dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and Mentors work closely with job seekers to help them gain the skills they need to find meaningful and long-lasting employment.
Indigenous Training
Apologies if we sound like we’re gushing with pride, but in 2008 Jobfind launched Australia’s first pre-employment program developed specifically for Indigenous people. It’s a fantastic and relevant program and after much thought we named it Budda-Jitja – or brother-sister as it’s translated.
Budda-Jitja is a computer-based skills training program that helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander job seekers prepare for working life. Jobfind has tailored Budda-Jitja to be easily transportable across regional Australia and delivered in remote Indigenous communities by creating it as a ‘Classroom in a Box’. This portable classroom can be set up without access to broadband facilities meaning it’s truly accessible anywhere and at any time. How good is that?
Indigenous Careers
Jobfind is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we’re proud of our diverse workforce. We not only encourage, but actively seek applications from all sections of the community, especially Indigenous Australians.
We are committed to providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with long-lasting employment, career development and training opportunities in supportive and culturally sensitive work environments.
Our aim is to sustain the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees at greater than 10% of the total Jobfind workforce, with the current rate being 12%. We encourage and work with other employers to meet their corporate and community responsibilities to achieve the same.

Other Indigenous Services
At Jobfind, we have our fingers in a lot of pies! In addition to Job Services Australia, we hold a number of other contracts that are dedicated to Indigenous training and employment:
Indigenous Employment Projects (IEP)
We’re a leading member of the Government’s IEP Panel, having hosted and managed over twenty high-profile projects around the country to train job seekers for work in local industries. Indigenous people all over Australia have gained meaningful employment through our IEP projects over the past 4 years.

Community Development Employment Projects (CDEP)
At Jobfind we also manage a number of CDEP contracts across remote QLD and NT to assist local Indigenous people gain the skills, training and capabilities they need to find sustainable employment. The programs are developed not only to benefit the individuals but, just as importantly, the local community as a whole.
